02 February 2012: Palm Beach Atlantic University head coach Gary Carter takes his 2-year-old granddaughter Alyse Bloemers from his daughter Kimmy Bloemers before the start of their season opening game against Lynn University at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida. Carter, the MLB Hall of Fame catcher known as "The Kid", died at the age of 57 on February 16, 2012 from inoperable brain cancer.
