28 May 2013: Robbie Rogers, the first athlete to play a major men's team sport in the United States after coming out as gay. The Los Angeles Galaxy held a training session on Field 3 at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, NC the day before playing in a 2013 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup third round game.
