14 February 2004: Johnny Sauter hits his pit crew worker Patrick Shafer during a pit stop the Hershey's Kisses 300 at the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona, FL. Shafer suffered only minor injuries and returned to the pit after receiving first aid. Sauter finished in 2nd place behind Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the re-running of the 300 on February 16th.
