June 10, 2011 - Houston, Texas, U.S - Houston, TX -- The Houston Astros announce today the signing of right-handed pitcher Adrian Houser, whom they selected in the second round of the 2011 MLB first Year Player Draft. Terms of the contract were not disclosed. Astros Assistant General Manager/Director of scouting Bobby Heck made the official announcement..Houser who was the 69th overall pick, was the Astros second selection in the Draft and the ninth player taken in the second round. He was scouted by Astros Amateur Scout Jim Stevenson. .Houser, 18, was 10-1 with an 0.92 ERA this season at Locust Grove High School in Locust Grove, Oklahome. The 6-4, 205 lb right-hander fanned 125 batters in just 62.0 innings of work. He helped his high school to the 2011 Class 4A State Championship in Oklahoma and was named a Rawlings Perfect Game 3rd Team All-American
