28 March 2007: Nine times winner of the men race Lahcen Ahansal of Morocco wins the fourth and longest stage of the 22nd Marathon des Sables in five hours and thirty five minutes between jebel Zireg and west of Kfiroun (43.8 miles) as Morocco workers applaud. The Marathon des Sables is a 6 days and 151 miles endurance race with food self sufficiency across the Sahara Desert in Morocco. Each participant must carry his, or her, own backpack containing food, sleeping gear and other material.
