Diminutive Bevilacqua was beaten in her quarter final heat by six times ASP world champion Layne Beachley (Sydney, NSW) who went on to finish runner-up to Melanie Redman-Carr (West Australia) in the final. Redman-Carr also faced and defeated Beachley in the final of the Roxy Pro on Australia
