Aug 05, 1968 - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - One of Major League Baseball's most accomplished and controversial players PETE ROSE was given the nickname of "Charlie Hustle" early in his professional career as a player for the Cincinnati Reds. During his 24 year major league career he would play five different field positions, for three different teams, establish the record for the most career hits, [4256], and played in more games, [3562], than any other player. His career ended in 1989 for allegedly gambling on the game, charges he denied for 14 years. PICTURED: File Photo 1968. Exact Date Unknown.
