15 January 2009: Steve Zakuani (ENG) was selected with the first overall draft pick by expansion team Seattle Sounders FC. With Technical Director Chris Henderson (l), owner Adrian Hanauer, and head coach Sigi Schmid (r). The 2009 Major League Soccer SuperDraft was held at the Convention Center in St. Louis, Missouri in conjuction with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's annual convention.
