20 July 2008: A mariachi band performed the Mexico national anthem before the game. Club de Futbol Monterrey of La Primera Division of Mexico defeated the Carolina Railhawks of the United Soccer Leagues First Division 4-1 on penalty kicks after the game ended in a 0-0 tie at WakeMed Stadium in Cary, NC in an international friendly club soccer match.
