26 April 2007: Gary Thorne, Baltimore Orioles television announcer on the MASN network (R) talks to Boston Red Sox manager Terry Francona (L) at Orioles Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore. On Wednesday, Thorne said during his broadcast of the Red Sox-Orioles game that Boston backup catcher Doug Mirabelli admitted that Curt Schilling's bloody sock in the 2004 postseason was a hoax. Mirabelli denied ever talking to Thorne, telling The Boston Globe that Thorne's comment was 'a straight lie.' The Red Sox defeated the Orioles 5-2 to sweep the Orioles in a two game series at Camden Yards in Baltimore, MD.
