The Carolina RailHawks of the North American Soccer League played Chivas USA of Major League Soccer at WakeMed Stadium in Cary, North Carolina in the fourth round of the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup soccer tournament. The RailHawks advanced by winning a penalty kick shootout 3-2 after the game had ended in a 1-1 tie after overtime.
