31 August 2008 8:49:54 PM - University of Colorado freshman running back Darrell Scott was all smiles after beating Colorado State after the second half of their 2008 Rocky Mountain Showdown game at Invesco Field at Mile High in Denver, Co. Colorado won the game 38-17 before a crowd of nearly 70,00. The rivalry game featured the debut of new Colorado State head football coach Steve Fairchild and the debut of highly recruited Colorado tailback Darrell Scott. Scott was considered the #1 running back of the 2008 high school class by Rivals.com and has drawn comparisons to LaDainian Tomlinson. Scott received scholarship offers by more than 40 schools, and eventually narrowed his choices to Colorado, Texas, Florida and Louisiana State. Colorado was widely believed to be the frontrunner, since his uncle, Josh Smith, is playing wide receiver for the Colorado Buffaloes.
