22 October 2005: Tony Schumacher earned his second straight and third overall NHRA POWERade Series Top Fuel world championship with nine victories behind the wheel of his US Army dragster. Schumacher set single-season NHRA Top Fuel records for consecutive victories with five, consecutive final rounds with seven, Number One qualifiers with 11, consecutive round-wins of 20, and overall margin of victory with 415 points.
