18 May 2007: Swimmers, including Olympic gold medalist Ryan Lochte, fourth lane from left, compete in a preliminary heat of the 400 meter individual medley event on the second day of the Erik Namesnik Memorial Grand Prix in Ann Arbor, Mich. The event, which runs through Sunday, has a morning finals format to help prepare swimmers for the Beijing Olympics. Finals at the 2008 Games were moved to the morning because NBC wants to broadcast gold-medal races live in U.S. prime time.
