12 March 2008: Washington Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom (19) attempts to put the puck in an empty net after Calgary Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff (34) came out to stop a shot in the 2nd period as defenseman Robyn Regehr (28) moves to cover the ner at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. The Capitals defeated the Flames 3-2 as Alex Ovechkin scored his 56th goal of the season and goalie Olie Kolzig earned his 300th career win.
