4 September 2006: Ramon Ortiz, pitcher for the Washington Nationals, acknowledges the fan appreciation of his 9 2/3 innings pitched against the St. Louis Cardinals as he returns to the dugout. Ortiz brought a no-hitter into the 9th inning before giving up 2 hits and a run as the Nationals defeated the Cardinals 4-1 at Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium in Washington, DC.
