Mulanovich was beaten by South African Heather Clark in the quarterfinals to pocket US$3 500 in prize money. Equal third in the Billabong Pro went to Australian and six times ASP world champion Layne Beachley (Manly Beach, NSW) and South African Heather Clark (Port Shepstone, KZN).
