Beachley lost out to reigning ASP world champion Chelsea Georgeson in the semi-finals. Beachley, who finished runner up in the first two events of the year, further strengthened her second place position on the ASP World Tour ratings. Equal third in the Billabong Pro went to Australian and six times ASP world champion Layne Beachley (Manly Beach, NSW) and South African Heather Clark (Port Shepstone, KZN).
