5 June 2012: Supporters of Wisconsin Governor elect Scott Walker (R) react to news that Walker is in the lead as early returns come in in an election to recall Walker in a race against Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (D) at a rally at the Waukesha County Exposition Center in Waukesha, WI. Walker won the election and became the first United States sitting governor to win a recall election. Two past governors, Gray Davis in California in 2003, and North Dakota Governor Lynn Frazier in 1921, lost recall elections.
