08 February 2012: 2012 MERCEDES-BENZ CLS-CLASS: The eye-catching Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class established an entirely new market segment in 2002 – the four-door Coupé. For 2012, a second-generation debuts, continuing the hallmarks of the CLS-Class: bold proportions, a long hood, compact greenhouse with frameless side windows, and dramatic roof sweeping back at an angle towards the rear. Three models are offered, including the CLS550, CLS550 4Matic and the CLS63 AMG. Buyers have their choice of rear-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations, as well as two exciting models, both powered by new biturbo, direct-injection V8s. The 4.6-liter CLS550 engine produces 402 horsepower and 443 lb. ft. of torque, and the high-performance CLS63 AMG model is powered by a 5.5L version that’s rated at 518 hp and 516 lb. ft. of torque.
