25 September 2006: China's National Olympic Stadium, nicknamed the "Bird's Nest" for its unique architectural designs, is taking shape after 2 years of construction. The stadium will be the centerpiece venue for the Beijing 2008 games and will be the site for the opening and closing ceremonies, football finals, and athletics. Beijing is gearing up its preparations work to be the host of the 29th Summer Olympic Games in 2008.
