11 February 2009: 2009 AUDI R8: Incorporating the name and the genes of the five-time Le Mans winner, the Audi R8 is a spectacular production two-seater. This is the first production Audi mid-engine sports car, featuring a 420 horsepower, 4.2-liter V-8 FSI engine. For '09 a six disc CD player, Bluetooth and Homelink are added to the long standard equipment list. Available are high gloss 19-inch alloy wheels, just in case you want to show off even more. The R8 comes with Quattro permanent all-wheel-drive, an aluminum body and Audi Space Frame. Behind the doors, a large 'sideblade' air deflector sweeps between the wheel arch and the roof section, and delivers air for the V-8 to breathe as well as for cooling. An automatically extending rear spoiler is deployed to assist the R8 by using the wind. Estimated top speed is 187 mph, and this Audi can blast from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds.
